American Rock School Lesson Policy Agreement

Lesson Program Scheduling: Lessons are available six days a week in 30 min., 45 min., and 60 min. time slots and are scheduled weekly at established times during the day or evening Monday-Saturday. We can help you find a time and day that works best for your schedule. Ask at our front desk about available instructors and time/day slots.

Rates:
Private Lessons for All Instruments and Voice
$102 per month for 30 minute lessons, $142 per month for 45 minute lessons, and $176 per month for 60 minute lessons. This is based on four lessons per month. An additional lesson (when there is a 5th week) will be billed separately on an equally prorated basis ($25.50 for 30 min; $35.50 for 45 min; $44 for 60 min).  If there are less than four lessons in the month, a credit will be issued (for the above stated amounts).

Trial Lessons
Trial lessons are available for the same per lesson rate, if you'd like to only pay for one lesson to start.  Limit one trial lesson per teacher, per student, so you can try multiple teachers if desired.  After trial lesson, students are required to enroll in the regular monthly program.

Family Discounts- Additional family members receive a $10 per month discount off above rates.

Registration Fee- There is a $20 registration fee for each student at the time of registration.
Students who suspend their lessons for greater than one year must re-register.

Monthly Fees- All of our programs are based on a month to month commitment. Payment is due on the 1st of the month on a monthly basis or in advance of the first lesson of the month if starting after the 1st week. If a student begins lessons or a program in the middle of the month, we will prorate the number of lessons/dates before the beginning of the first full month.

Lesson Supplies: Each student is expected to have and bring the following to each lesson, by or before the first two lessons*:
An acceptable instrument, no toy instruments. (Pianos/keyboards/drumkits do not need to be brought to lessons). If you need to purchase an instrument, we can help.  We can direct you to purchase or rent a quality instrument for your student.
Music method book(s) – the exact type of book(s) the student will need will be determined by their instructor.  A notebook for lesson plans and notes.  Metronome and tuner (where applicable).
Most necessary items are available at the school and can be billed to your payment method on file.
*Drum students may start with just a practice pad and sticks for a longer period of time.

Cancellation/Suspension Policy: We require notice before the 1st of the month to discontinue lessons. If no notice is given by the last day of the month before lessons are being discontinued/suspended, then the student/parent will be responsible for the next month’s tuition, no exceptions.

Payments forms:  All students are required to register a card on file with us, excluding trial lessons.  Auto pay/enrollment is recommended and the easiest way to reserve your spot.  This is a safe, secure and convenient way to pay ongoing tuition while enrolled at the school. If you choose to not enroll in auto pay, you will be responsible for paying the tuition balance for the upcoming month by the 1st of that month, either by using the method of payment already on file, or by using an alternate form of payment.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, AMEX, Check Cards with a Visa Logo, auto draft (ACH)for checking accounts, and, of course, cash. When enrolled in auto billing, we will automatically bill your card on the 1st day of every month. For multiple students and/or lessons we will bill your card separately for each student/instructor with whom lessons are being taken. If there are 5 weeks of lessons in the month, we will bill for the extra lesson as a separate charge. Lessons that fall on holidays will be made up in advance or after the holiday.

Please Initial One:

_______ I would like to enroll in autopay and have my tuition deducted from my card on file.

_______ I would like to be responsible for paying my tuition, due the 1st day of the month.

Late Fee:
We have a late payment fee policy of $10. If payment is not received prior to the second lesson of the month it is considered late and the fee will automatically be applied, no exceptions. It is the student’s/parent’s responsibility to ensure we have a current credit card on file for auto bill purposes. Returned Checks: There will be a $20 Fee for any returned checks.

Missed Lessons and Make-Up Policy: There are no official make-up lessons offered. There are no credits or refunds given for missed lessons. Each instructor may at their option give a courtesy make-up lesson based on their schedule of openings. Many teachers may not have any openings as their schedules are full, so any make-ups that they offer you will be given when they have cancellations. Please check with the front desk on teacher availability (this also can change week to week). A courtesy make-up lesson is not guaranteed for any missed lesson. If you must miss a lesson due to illness, accident or unavoidable scheduling conflict, please call the school and let us know the reason for having to miss the regular lesson. They will relay this message to your teacher. If an opening exists on the same day at different time or within the week of the missed lesson, the school manager may offer that time to you (with the teacher’s approval). If you cannot take the time(s) offered or if there are no times available, you will need to check with the front desk during the next week’s lesson to discuss the make-up.  In order to be considered for a Courtesy Make-Up Lesson, the student or parent must call/e-mail the school at least 24 hours in advance if a known absence is coming, or ASAP, if a last minute unforeseen illness/accident/emergency comes up. If you do not call in advance, you will forfeit the lesson, no exceptions. Once a Courtesy Make-Up Lesson has been scheduled, no additional lesson will be offered if you cancel the scheduled Make-Up Lesson for any reason. Lessons for any teacher absence, will be covered either by a substitute on the regular lesson day, or we will make arrangements to do a pre, or post make up with each student.
